Integrate Shopify

9min

Connect your Shopify store to the iR Studio by enabling and configuring the Shopify plugin in your project settings.

Introduction

The Shopify integration lets you load your store's products directly into your Studio project. You can display 2D or 3D versions of your items and place them inside your virtual environments.

You can connect your Shopify store to iR Studio using one of two methods:

  • Studio Wizard: A quick setup guide that appears when you create a new project.
  • Dashboard: A way to configure Shopify in any existing project.

ℹ️ Important: Before integrating your store, make sure to review the currency support section below.

To integrate Shopify, you must locate your project, enable the plugin, and link your store credentials.

ℹ️ Currency support

You can connect any Shopify store to the iR Studio, regardless of the store's region or default currency. However, version 1.0 of the iR Studio only supports transactions in US dollars (USD).

All prices from connected stores are displayed as-is in US dollars. This means that if your store lists an item as ¥1,500 (about $ 10 USD), iR Studio will display that price as $1,500 USD, not the actual converted value.

To ensure your store's pricing displays correctly, we recommend configuring your Shopify store to transact in US dollars before connecting it to iR Studio.

Method 1: Configure via the Studio Wizard

If you are creating a new project, the iR Studio Wizard guides you through setup, including Shopify integration.

📘 Studio Wizard setup instructions

For instructions on the Wizard setup, refer to Step 4: Connect your Shopify store, from the Create and publish your Space (Wizard setup) guide.

In summary, this method requires you to do the following:

  1. Configure the Shopify plugin when prompted by the Wizard.
  2. Enter your Storefront Access Token and Shopify domain. See guide below.
  3. Save your settings to load your product catalog into iR Studio.

If you choose to skip Shopify integration during onboarding, you can still set it up later using the Dashboard method.

Method 2: Configure via the Dashboard

Use the Dashboard to add or update Shopify settings at any time in an existing project.

Step 3: Connect your Shopify account

When connecting your store, you need two pieces of information from Shopify: your Storefront Access Token and your Shopify Domain.

1

Enter your Storefront Access Token:

Paste your token into the designated field. It should look like 4beffe41538252a1dde4a6a881857782. If you’re not sure where to find this token, watch the video below:

2

Enter your Shopify domain:

Typically, it follows the format {store_name}.myshopify.com. If you’ve set up a custom domain, use that instead.

3

Save your changes:

After entering the token and domain, select Save to complete the integration.

Final result

Once you’ve configured Shopify, iR Studio will access your store and display your product catalog inside your virtual environments. You can use 2D images or 3D models for your products.

Use 3D models to enhance the experience 3D models provide a more engaging experience for your virtual stores than static 2D images. Consider using them to make interactions with your products more immersive.
